INTRODUCTION
________________________________________________________________________________________

Truck and trailers vehicles always been an ugly box and brick in looks hardly being aerodynamic nor sporty in the eyes of the motoring enthusiasts.  Wouldn't it be great if trucks would looks as sexy, sporty and exotics as any other small roadster or sports car around them.  Yes the truck can! So i decided to make a new change to the word "truck".  Something that turns lots of heads by adding a little magic into the design.

I've decided to make a truck looks sporty and aerodynamic, something that is appealing to sport car fans  and at the same time make something i should be proud to called my own mobile team racing fortress aka SupermotoXL Race Station Rig too. I  called this new truck  "XENTURION CD 34.0 XL-SC" (Super Carrier).  It would be sleek, rugged and aero looks, sporty and have attributes like a exotics roadster like having wings, spoiler, vents, *bling wheels and looks exotics than its opponent from the same counterpart.

Unlike any other models i built i don't really put so much serious attention making it run-able inside game as add-on like 4x4 EVO 2 but instead was built as a presentable static showcase in Z-modeler application.  Build just to show off my ideas or for photogenic purposes or just to materialized my ideas into 3D presentation.  The fun factor having this truck is that it has a very huge paint able surface, which mean you can put lots of paint work, theme and art work on these to keep the model looks alive and interesting let alone ones creativity & imagination decides what best.

THE DESIGN
________________________________________________________________________________________

The origin of
XENTURION design came from an ideas which manifest after watching several Anime videos throughout the years.  Most truck design as shown in Anime like "Ghost in the Shell", "AKIRA" and others which featured in modern futuristic environment  have these cool characteristic on their trucks:

  • Aerodynamic
The aerodynamic looks or wind sweeping design which makes the trucks looks very sporty or something like a bullet train.  Beneficial for reducing wind drag/friction and increase forward movement unrestricted by obstacles and thus reduce power consumption to fuel the running engine (electric motor). The cargo container also design with aero smooth looks built for the same purpose too.  It also have static electric discharge produce by wind friction over surface which then turn it into reusable electric through conversion and charging direct to its main battery.

  • Bulk
Very thick solid metal looks, very industrial feel to the architecture and the structure of the truck.  For example the container looks like it was made from a piece of Aluminum block cut through CNC process.  Very "armored" looks, tough and heavy. Looks nice too.

  • Future realistic
A design that can easily achieve with the use of present technology.  Something that looks reachable in distance time.

  • Armored like structure
Looks bulky, tough and bullet proof.

Well its great to be Anime fan i guess with all those cool exposure to new ideas and designs especially their cool artwork, motives and technical feature which you may missed it in real word movie. Go Otakus fan!.

The design scale for XENTURION wasn't properly plotted.  Since there no blueprint to start with, a few stacks of CONXERTO car was arranged beside the XENTURION based model as scaling reference to guide how much mass and length i should put on XENTURION.  For example XENTURION truck measures at 4x unit of CONXERTO length (approx).  Overall height could fit 3 stacks of CONXERTO spaced safely between them if arranged between the based chassis above the axle and below the container highest roof. That's how i measures things before start the 3D works.

At 10 wheeler configuration it has 2x normal with steer-able wheels and 8x wide heavy duty high off-set wheels to compensate weight of its cargo.  Each wheel set have full active hydraulic disc brake each with 8 piston per-caliper. Suspension system are both combination of hydraulic struts and spring leaf.

Other extra feature that unique from standard everyday trailer truck are:

  • Fins/Wing tip:
Both truck and the trailer have several fins above its waist line.  There are 6x semi horizontal fins and 2x upright vertical fins.  These stabilized the truck body at high speed by adjusting the wind pressure  around the wing tip so that the truck high towering body does not bank too much.  Its function can be similarly associated with GYRO.

  • Extended vents:
As visually seen from external view there are two vents on each side of the trailer/container.  The long upper and the lower before the rear wheel fender.  These vents serves as cooling front for internal use and also as source of hydraulic force to operated air hydraulic braking and properly electric generator for battery charging.

  • Extended transparent canopy:
The truck wind shield and the roof are made from 1 piece of transparent sheet of wind shield. Made from UV light sensitive  cell that could filter and darken the sheet to protect the driver and cabin passengers from unwanted level of sunlight and UV rays.  Its impact resistance and give wide clear viewing angle inside the cockpit.

  • Eco friendly engine:
Runs on electric with dual oversize brushless motor capable to pull 50 tonnes of laden steels and machinery on it back.

Unfortunately i cannot elaborate more details about the internal feature such as engines, chassis, cockpit, handling, instrumental panel, electronics and etc since this design was concentrated more toward goal building the outer feature rather than internal attributes.  So like i said this is just Concept Design Carrier Truck in appearance.

SUMMARY
________________________________________________________________________________________

Any vehicle can looks radical and sporty regardless size, type or functionality it does on the road. Its all in the hands of the designer that decide the fate of any vehicles that are about to create.   The XENTURION proves that there always 101 ways to shape the future of transportation. You'll just have to open up your mind to possibility of alternative ideas and creation through constant positive imagination. As for me i learned that "if i don't like the ideas i just re-invent or innovate it".   Trucks always been an ugly box and hardly been any sporty. So if i don't like it i just make an improvement.  A few days later i manage to redefined the word Trucking through XENTURION.  Keep on trucking guys!

 Enjoy.

Important note : 3d models checklist and notes
Please read the note below regarding the 3d meshes and texture issue.
In this SDK package include several material that should attached along together with this file these are:

1. *.Z3D file (Z-modeler format)
2. *.TGA file (Multiple of hi-resolution texture set)
3.  Sample of images file, 3d screenshots of actual models

Before you start make sure you have proper 3d program/modeler tools.  I recommend you to download Z-modeler v1.07 or  Z-modeler v2 to open and edit *.Z3D file. You can download it at http://www.zmodeler2.com  But if you already own a 3D Studio tools then you can open the existing *.3DS file attached in this package.  But for high compatibility when viewing this models i recommend Z-modeler.

By default these 3d meshes/models as usual runs perfect when editing using Z-MODELER tools because it was built using this tools from scratch,  *.Z3D extension format is default Z-MODELER file.  Before you open the *.Z3D file into Z-modeler program make sure the all *.TGA texture file located in the same location/directory where *.Z3D file is located else you'll have blank white meshes/models upon opening in Z-modeler.

Make sure you double check if your Z-modeler or your 3D Studio program render the models as similar and as accurate as shown/published inside the models screenshots/images attached with this package.  Make sure the reflection effect, transparency and parts are perfectly exhibited/shown correctly on your 3d tools view port. Good Luck.
